Rothana is 26 and lives in Kep with his mother. He has always worked hard, earning money as a waiter to support her and manage their daily life. Rothana dreams of living independently and taking care of his mother, but his life changed in December 2021.
A motorbike accident left Rothana unconscious for two days and hospitalized in Vietnam for ten days. Over time, his right eye began to bulge, and he now feels constant pressure and pulsing in his head. Because of this, he can no longer work or support his mother, and every day is filled with worry.
Doctors discovered that Rothana has a carotid-cavernous fistula, a rare blood vessel problem near his eye caused by the accident. The only safe treatment is a delicate endovascular procedure that is not available in Cambodia. Children’s Surgical Center has arranged for Rothana to receive surgery in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, where specialized doctors can treat his condition.
The total cost for Rothana’s surgery, travel, and medical care is $10,000. To help save his life, we hope to raise this amount between March 7 and March 31, 2026, so he can receive treatment as soon as possible.
Rothana’s wish is simple: “I want my eye to be normal again so I can work and take care of my mother.”
Your support can help raise the $10,000 needed for Rothana to travel to Ho Chi Minh City and receive the life saving surgery he urgently needs.
