CSC welcomes UOM Audiology

Chris Waterworth, our friend and colleague from the University of Melbourne, was finally able to return to CSC with students the last week in June after several years of pandemic restrictions. We are thrilled to showcase the partnership between CSC and Chris's team at UOM, which has lasted for six years.  The ENT service at CSC has been successfully running an audiology service independently, and the UOM team was able to revisit some advanced hearing testing techniques and introduce new hearing aid technologies that can now be fitted at CSC. One of the challenges has been the lack of hearing aids. Thanks to the generosity of some programs, such as those of Soundfair, amongst others, CSC now has a substantial number of hearing aids that can be provided to patients who would otherwise not have access to such life-changing technologies. We fitted hearing aids to 12 individuals, including many children, who were incredibly grateful. This significant boost in capacity allows CSC to continue meeting the increasing demand for its services in Cambodia. Every contribution, no matter how small, can have a profound impact on the lives of individuals suffering from hearing loss in Cambodia. We urge you to join us in this noble endeavor and help restore the gift of hearing to those in need.
