Right Place, Right Time, Right Diagnosis

Thank you to our amazing partners at WATSI for supporting Chorng, a 60-year-old soup cart owner from Cambodia.  When not selling soup, Chorng cares for his aging mother and listens to traditional Cambodian music. About six months ago, on the advice of a neighbor, Chorng came to CSC with right ear pain and hearing loss. He was unable to hear his customers at the soup cart and relied on others to help him.  He also suffered from right-side facial palsy. CSC's ENT surgeons determined he had a tumour and scheduled surgery. Fortunately for Chorng, visiting French surgeons identified a more complex issue, squamous cell carcinoma in his ear.  Thanks to WATSI, he was financially supported to have extensive surgery at CSC by CSC and the visiting surgeons.  After discharge, he plans to return to his soup cart with better hearing, better communication, and a sense of gratitude that he visited CSC when he did.
