June-Cataract Awareness Month

June is Cataract Awareness Month! Prevent Blindness encourages people to share their stories about how their eye care has positively impacted their lives. Cataract surgery has profoundly impacted many Cambodians' lives by restoring their vision, enhancing their quality of life, and providing economic and social benefits. CSC plays a vital role in emphasizing the importance of seeking medical care for vision issues among underserved Cambodians. This includes free or subsidized surgeries, making treatment accessible to those who could not afford it otherwise.  But we need your help to continue our mission!  Meet Thorn, a rice farmer from Siem Reap who spent decades tending to the rice fields, her eyesight damaged from toil under the fierce sun. Now in her sixties, she had stopped working outside but struggled with worsening vision and was frustrated by her lack of independence. A relative told her about the eye care at CSC, where she had cataract surgery. She can now participate in village activities, recognize the faces of her grandchildren, and pick fruit to share with family. Consider supporting our mission and donate today at our website.
