Stories from the Ward

December 6, 2023

Meet Nhe, a 30-year-old construction worker from Tbong Khmum province. He is the sole support for his family, which includes his wife and two children. Six months ago, while on the roof of a house, Nhe received electrical burns on both of his hands and fell nine metres to the ground.  Although he did not break any bones, he has limited range of motion in his hands and a lack of sensation. Today, surgeons will explore his hand nerves and do a nerve graft if possible, along with a skin graft to cover the damaged tissue. Nhe and his family are hoping he can restore some mobility to his hands so he can work to support his family.
