This Week: ENT Outreach

For the past two weeks, our Ear, Nose, and Throat staff and a team of volunteer doctors from France visited several specialized schools for Deaf children in and around Phnom Penh. They delivered hearing care, fitted children with hearing aids when appropriate, removed ear wax, or helped with other problems with the ear canal. Over 1,700 students have been fitted in the past 24 years, thanks to Dr. Jean-Paul Beraha, Founder-President of the Enfants Sourds du Cambodge (ESC), who organized this outreach with our staff. Helping Cambodian children with hearing disabilities is crucial because it enables them to develop language and communication skills, and access to education, breaking the cycle of poverty and isolation.

If you'd like to support medical care for hearing-impaired children, join our Donor Portal and ask to have your donation geared to children who are Deaf or hard of hearing.
